Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Director of Facilities Management in planning, directing, and organizing all operational aspects of the facility, ensuring compliance with Federal, State, and local guidelines and life-safety code regulations.
  • Supervise and manage personnel, including facilities management, housekeeping, laundry, and janitorial staff, ensuring they have the necessary tools and equipment to perform their duties.
  • Conduct regular walking tours and inspections of the campus, identifying life-safety, code, work, or environmental violations and/or hazards.
  • Exercise superior leadership skills, managing personnel and directing operations of the Department, ensuring the overall wellbeing, performance, productivity, conduct, training, development, and morale of employees.
  • Prepare and oversee the execution of the Department's annual budget, ensuring all financial expenditures are necessary and within established fiscal boundaries.
  • Exercise continuing vigilance to ensure compliance with Federal, State, and local regulations related to maintenance operations in a continuing care community environment.
Requirements
  • At least 4 years of US Military experience required.
  • General maintenance background.
  • 4-year degree in electrical or mechanical engineering (or related field preferred); 3-5 years of hands-on operational experience also acceptable.
  • Must be comfortable working around elderly communities (independent and assisted living, memory care, etc.).
