Position Overview:
The Senior Vice President of Wellness Operations is tasked with collaborating closely with the Operations team and Health & Wellness Directors to enhance the clinical management of assigned communities while overseeing their financial performance.
This role is ideal for individuals who are collaborative, passionate, and committed to improving the lives of seniors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily clinical operations, including the formulation and execution of departmental policies and procedures, fostering interdepartmental collaboration, and partnering with sales teams to maintain high occupancy rates.
- Contribute to the design and rollout of Wellness programs across all communities.
- Provide clinical guidance, leadership, and mentorship to Health & Wellness Directors and Memory Care Directors.
- Facilitate training for clinical staff on the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.
- Ensure adherence to all regulatory requirements at the state and federal levels concerning resident care, including:
- Monitoring compliance with safety and infection control protocols.
- Ensuring licensure compliance for each community with relevant regulations.
- Collaborating with HR to guarantee ongoing staff training aligns with state requirements.
- Assisting in the recruitment, hiring, and supervision of nursing and care personnel.
- Implementing legal risk mitigation strategies in assisted living, independent living, and memory care settings.
- Develop and present training for community leadership teams on clinical programming, regulatory compliance, and risk management.
- Manage clinical quality assurance initiatives, survey readiness, and regulatory policies.
- Act as a vital member of the executive leadership, risk management, and legal committees.
- Establish and implement standardized practices for nursing and care staff.
- Conduct monthly clinical audits to ensure compliance with established standards.
- Collaborate with sales teams to develop marketing strategies aimed at achieving full occupancy.
- Oversee training and support related to clinical assessments.
- Consult with Health & Wellness Directors to enhance service delivery for residents and their families.
- Ensure prompt actions are taken in response to feedback from residents and families.
- Monitor the effective execution of quality improvement initiatives.
- Work with Health & Wellness Directors to cultivate a cohesive team environment that boosts staff morale and retention.
- Manage vendor relationships to enhance operational efficiency and ensure high-quality resident care.
- Support the maintenance of physical properties, ensuring a safe and well-kept environment in compliance with safety regulations.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Current Registered Nursing (RN) license.
- Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, with a proven ability to mentor effectively.
- 10 to 15 years of clinical leadership experience in a healthcare setting.
- Strong management background in senior living or related customer service fields.
- Experience in training clinical staff on EHR systems.
- In-depth nursing knowledge with the ability to interpret nursing philosophies and policies.
- Strategic thinker with a proactive approach to operational challenges.
- High ethical standards and professionalism.
Physical Requirements:
- Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time.
- Availability to work weekends and holidays as needed.
- Potential exposure to various health-related environments.
