This position is responsible for providing technical oversight and management of the Chemistry Department, ensuring the accuracy and reliability of laboratory results. The incumbent will be responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting laboratory instrumentation, as well as providing technical guidance and support to other laboratory staff.
Key Responsibilities- Provide technical oversight and management of the Chemistry Department
- Maintain and troubleshoot laboratory instrumentation
- Provide technical guidance and support to other laboratory staff
- Ensure the accuracy and reliability of laboratory results
- Develop and implement quality control and quality assurance procedures
- Collaborate with other laboratory staff to ensure smooth laboratory operations
- Bachelor's degree in medical technology or a related field
- Current certification as a Medical Technologist (MT), Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS), or Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS)
- At least 1 year of experience in a clinical laboratory setting
- Strong knowledge of laboratory instrumentation and procedures
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
The incumbent will work in a fast-paced laboratory environment, with frequent exposure to chemicals and biological materials. The position requires the ability to lift up to 20 pounds and stand for long periods of time.
