Job Title: Medical Biller Specialist
Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Medical Biller Specialist to join our team at Scarsdale Medical Group. As a Medical Biller Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of charge entry, denial management, and monitoring of non-payments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure all claims are billed expediently and efficiently
- Understand and adhere to performance standards, policies, and behaviors
- Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of all insurance companies, their policies, guidelines, and contracts
- Stay informed of changes in coding rules and guidelines, and actively research industry changes
- Identify and analyze trends in denials and recommend process improvements or additional training for front-end staff
- Monitor write-offs and work to minimize losses
- Actively pursue all non-payments, identify causes, and provide recommendations for corrective action
- Serve as a resource for front-end and clinicians for coding questions
- Fulfill organizational responsibilities, including promoting patient rights and responding to emergencies
- Adhere to infection control standards, including proper hand hygiene and use of PPE
- Collaborate and communicate effectively with the healthcare team
- Complete annual mandatory requirements, including occupational health requirements
- Attend mandatory in-services and staff meetings as required or requested

- Proficient in problem assessment and resolution in complex settings
- Strong customer service skills, with sensitivity in stressful situations
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and set priorities
- Maintain composure under stress
