Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Specialty Clinic Coordinator - OR Scheduler to join our team at UNM Medical Group, Inc. This role will be responsible for coordinating authorizations, medical clearances, surgery paperwork, records, and provider & patient communication.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Coordinate surgery block time schedules and services required for an organized, interdisciplinary, patient-centered team approach to surgery throughput.
  2. Interface with financial offices to secure patient funding source and ensure prior authorizations are in place.
  3. Code procedure and diagnosis for anticipated surgery.
  4. Ensure quality, cost-effective care for surgical patients.
  5. Act as a contact person for the patient, family, healthcare team members, and community/state resources.
Requirements

High School Diploma or GED with at least 2 years of experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Medical terminology knowledge.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.
