SSM Health is seeking a skilled Medical Unit Support Technician to join our team. As a Medical Unit Support Technician, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and supporting the nursing team.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in performing a variety of nursing care services for patients, including collecting and documenting data, stocking and maintaining supplies, and assisting with delegated clerical duties.
- Work under the supervision of a registered nurse (RN) to initiate delegated tasks and provide patient care.
- Monitor patient behavior and physical condition, and inform the RN of any changes or concerns.
- Assist with baths, ambulating, feeding, skin care, personal and oral hygiene, and making occupied and unoccupied beds.
- Perform dressing changes, enemas, ostomy care, toileting, turning, cough and deep breathing, catheter care, and collection of biological specimens.
- Orient new patients and significant others to the nursing unit.
- High school diploma or equivalent and enrolled in a nursing program and successfully completed medication administration course or enrolled in a nursing program and successfully completed medication aide training program.
- No experience required.
- Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider (BLS HCP) - American Heart Association (AHA), Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) - State of Work Location.
