The Ottava Via restaurant is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Dishwasher to join our kitchen team. As a Dishwasher, you will play a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness and efficiency of our kitchen operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Dishwashing: Clean and sanitize all dirty dishes, pots, pans, and utensils used in food preparation and service.
  2. Kitchen Equipment: Safely and efficiently clean kitchen equipment, such as blenders, mixers, grills, and ovens, ensuring they are ready for use.
  3. Utensil Maintenance: Sort, stack, and store cleaned dishes, utensils, and kitchenware in an organized manner, making them easily accessible to the kitchen staff.
  4. Trash Disposal: Regularly empty trash cans and dispose of waste according to the restaurant's guidelines, keeping kitchen and work areas clean and free from clutter.
  5. Sanitization: Maintain high standards of cleanliness and sanitation by following established cleaning procedures and guidelines to prevent cross-contamination and ensure food safety.
  6. Team Support: Collaborate with the kitchen staff to ensure a smooth flow of dishes, assisting with food prep and other tasks during peak hours.
  7. Kitchen Hygiene: Ensure that all surfaces, floors, and walls in the dishwashing area are clean, sanitized, and free from debris.
  8. Adherence to Regulations: Follow health and safety regulations, including proper handling of cleaning chemicals, usage of personal protective equipment (PPE), and safe operation of equipment.
  9. Maintenance: Report any malfunctioning equipment or maintenance needs to the appropriate department for timely repairs.
  10. Inventory Management: Assist with monitoring and replenishing cleaning supplies and chemicals as needed, ensuring that stock levels are maintained.
  11. Shift Documentation: Maintain accurate records of dishes washed, cleaned equipment, and completed tasks during each shift.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in a similar role is a plus but not mandatory.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle high volumes of dishes efficiently.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards.
  • Physical stamina to stand for extended periods, lift heavy objects, and perform repetitive tasks.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills to coordinate with kitchen staff effectively.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by the restaurant's operational hours.
  • Basic understanding of kitchen equipment and chemicals used in cleaning.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to food handling and sanitation.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and carry heavy items, such as crates of dishes and kitchen equipment.
  • Stamina to stand and work for extended periods in a hot and fast-paced environment.
  • Agility to bend, stoop, and reach to perform various tasks.
