As a member of the LifeBridge Health team, the Ophthalmic Technician provides technical support to physicians in the ophthalmology department. This role involves assisting with patient care, performing diagnostic tests, and documenting medical findings.
Responsibilities:
- Assist physicians with patient care and medical procedures
- Perform diagnostic tests, such as visual acuity and refraction
- Document patient medical history, test results, and treatment plans
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Basic employment skills and knowledge of medical terminology
- Less than one year of experience in a healthcare setting
- American Heart Association CPR certification
- COA certification preferred or must complete within 18 months
- JCAPHO certification preferred
