Job Title: Ophthalmic Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Ophthalmic Technician to join our team at Quadrant. As an Ophthalmic Technician, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and supporting our ophthalmologists in diagnosing and treating eye disorders and diseases.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and maintain patient flow, ensuring efficient and timely care.
  • Perform and record various tests and measurements, including far acuity, near acuity, peripheral vision, depth perception, and color perception.
  • Measure and record patients' current prescription glasses (Lensometry) and perform auto-refraction.
  • Measure intraocular pressure of eyes and perform other tests and measurements as requested by ophthalmologists.
  • Apply drops to anesthetize, dilate, or medicate eyes and ensure patient safety during job functions.
  • Give instructions to patients concerning eye care and take action to correct observed risks to patient safety.
  • Report adverse events and near misses to appropriate management authority and identify possible risks in processes, procedures, devices, and communicate the same to those in charge.
  • Assist with minor surgery procedures or laser treatments in the office and clean surgical instruments in preparation for sterile processing.
  • Collaborate with biomedical engineering to facilitate maintenance of clinical examination equipment and order clinic supplies as needed.
Requirements:
  • Certified Ophthalmic Technician or Certified Ophthalmic Assistant.
  • CPR Certification (AHA).
  • High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED).
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline highly preferred.
