Job Title: Patient Support Professional - Atrium Health

Estimated Salary: $42,000 - $52,000 per year

About the Role: We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Patient Support Professional to join our team at Atrium Health. In this role, you will work closely with our experienced healthcare team to provide exceptional patient care and support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide emotional support and assistance with daily living activities to patients/residents
  • Take vital signs and height and weight measurements as needed
  • Feed and ambulate patients/residents according to specific procedures
  • Maintain patient/resident rooms in a clean and orderly condition
  • Observe and report changes in patient/resident conditions to the healthcare team
  • Orient patients/families to the unit and instruct them on safety measures
  • Assist with clerical work, including answering phones and maintaining medical records
  • Maintain stock supply items in inventory management
  • Perform duties as outlined in the scope of Nurse Aide I (per North Carolina Board of Nursing Nurse Aide I Tasks List)
  • Perform technical tasks with appropriate training, such as administering a 12-Lead Electrocardiogram test and routine venipuncture

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED required for new hires
  • Current listing with the DFS Nurse Aide Registry as a Nurse Aide I
  • Current American Heart Association Basic Cardiac Life Support Healthcare Provider certification
  • Nurse Aide I+4 Course required: E-learning and instructor-led skills practice
  • Required observation activities
  • Must be validated twice by an RN on each skill before they can perform independently
