Position Summary:
The Reliability Engineer will play a crucial role in delivering technical expertise in reliability engineering, assessment, and monitoring for all process equipment, including mechanical, electrical, and control systems. This position involves conducting reliability studies on existing equipment and proposing enhancements to management regarding equipment philosophies, strategies, and best practices aimed at maximizing asset productivity.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee Predictive Maintenance Programs focusing on Lubrication, Vibration Analysis, Infrared, and Ultrasound technologies, generating Predictive Notifications and managing them through the planning and scheduling phases.
  • Lead and collaborate with maintenance and operations teams, including external contractors, on daily, weekly, and monthly tasks, special projects, and reliability initiatives.
  • Identify root causes of persistent equipment failures through reliability techniques such as Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and data-driven problem-solving.
  • Conduct Criticality Studies of equipment across various production lines using Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) methodologies based on risk assessment.
  • Perform Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) to establish proactive maintenance strategies.
  • Collaborate with Planners to develop and implement Proactive Maintenance Plans derived from FMEA studies.
  • Work closely with the Maintenance Management Team to cultivate practices and processes that achieve Reliability Excellence.
  • Analyze equipment trends, historical data, and MTBF data to recommend and justify Improvement Projects aimed at optimizing equipment/system reliability.
  • Execute assigned projects that support asset program management, including equipment and material procurement, storage, and installation.
  • Provide technical support for QA/QC, installation, and startup of new critical equipment.

Essential Functions:
  • Conduct Reliability Analyses and Assessments, completing FMEA studies for critical equipment and systems.
  • Recommend and implement improvements for equipment and systems management to enhance asset reliability and productivity.
  • Develop and implement equipment asset plans utilizing RCM techniques.
  • Oversee reliability data systems and recommend reliability specifications and testing methods.
  • Participate in maintenance and operation shutdown planning, providing reliability insights for inspection and repair priorities.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Develop engineering solutions and work practices that transition the workforce from reactive to precision-based maintenance. Promote standardization of procedures and operations within the area of focus.

Qualifications:
  • BS degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, or Chemical preferred).
  • 3-5 years of maintenance reliability experience.
  • 3-5 years of industrial plant experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute reliability improvement projects.
  • Knowledge of root cause failure analysis (RCFA) and reliability-centered maintenance (RCM) methodologies.
  • Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS), preferably SAP.

Work Environment:
This position operates in a professional office and plant environment, with occasional exposure to various hazards. The role requires physical activity, including lifting up to 25 pounds infrequently.
