Key Qualifications for the Electrical Controls Engineer:

  • At least 2 years of experience in programming and diagnosing automation equipment within a professional environment, ideally in manufacturing or production settings
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering (with a focus on Instrumentation & Electrical/control systems), or equivalent experience
  • Expertise in PLCs and automation methodologies
  • Preferred experience with Siemens TIA Portal/S7 and Rockwell RSLogix5000
  • Familiarity with FactoryTalk, WinCC, and/or Wonderware InTouch HMI systems is advantageous
  • Ability to apply engineering principles to resolve design challenges
  • Capacity to work autonomously with minimal oversight
  • Willingness to travel for project support as required
  • Strong communication and computer skills

Core Responsibilities of the Electrical Controls Engineer:

  • Design and implement PLC-based automation control systems that integrate motion control, sensors, VFD drives, and actuators
  • Provide ongoing support and troubleshooting for existing systems
  • Program Level 1 control systems based on functional descriptions and layouts
  • Collaborate with project teams, internal specialists, and clients to engineer technical solutions
  • Conduct thorough testing and simulation of systems prior to delivery
  • Carry out on-site commissioning and training sessions as necessary
