Job Details

This position supports the efforts of the Engineering Department by proficient hands-on design and programming of process control systems for use in auxiliary industrial machinery and material handling systems.

Roles and Responsibilities
  1. Develops and designs electrical controls for use in auxiliary industrial machinery and material handling systems.
  2. Designs, documents, programs, or contracts programming work for PLC circuits and systems.
  3. Develops and maintains U.L. industrial control panel and flame control panel programs.
  4. Troubleshoots, writes, and modifies control circuits on manufactured or testing machinery and systems.
  5. Travels to customer's sites when required to develop, startup, or troubleshoot electrical, systems, PLC and proprietary controls on supplied machinery and systems.
  6. Creates and reads logic and flow diagrams for program design, programming, simulation and testing, and start-up.
  7. Performs all aspects of start-up and commissioning new control systems.
  8. Develops bills of material/controls expenditures within limitations of project budget.
  9. Creates and assembles final documentation.
  10. Uses Computer Aided Design (CAD) technology and techniques to prepare or delegate the preparation of drawings from own layouts, rough sketches, or concepts.
  11. Prepares bills of material (BOM) and other documentation in SAP.
  12. Contacts suppliers to receive pricing and technical information for purchase on projects.
  13. Meets with customers and our representatives in field for site review/pre-engineering evaluation.
  14. Ensures all changes and modifications are appropriately documented and noted correctly.
  15. Ensures customers have sufficient information i.e., drawings, manuals, documentation, to facilitate a successful installation and operation.
  16. Interfaces closely with mechanical, systems, and electrical engineers, drafters, and designers to develop electrical schematics and detailing.
  17. Works closely with manufacturing during control panel manufacture.
  18. Attends meetings and seminars for updated job information and professional development training.
