Software Engineer in Computer Science

A3 Technology, Inc. is in search of a skilled Computer Scientist to contribute to our innovative projects. The successful candidate will be tasked with software analysis, design, development, testing, and system integration, specifically focusing on the Terminal Flight Data Manager (TFDM) program.
Key Responsibilities:
- Demonstrate expertise in real-time software design, development, testing, and integration with computer hardware systems.
- Collaborate with the TFDM Adaptation and Software Teams utilizing programming languages and tools such as C/C++, Java, XML, shell scripting, and database systems (Postgres and/or Oracle).
- Conduct software analysis and implement necessary code modifications, adaptations, and enhancements.
- Engage in peer and code review processes.
- Exhibit the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
- Possess the initiative to provide guidance and training to peers.
- Willingness to travel occasionally for work-related purposes.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Essential:
- Extensive software development experience, particularly with programming languages relevant to National Airspace Systems (NAS).
- Proficient in C/C++, Java, XML, Shell Scripting, JavaScript, and UNIX/Linux systems.
- Strong communication skills to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced work environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with additional programming languages and tools such as Ada, Perl, Python, GIS Tools, and Red Hat Linux.
- Familiarity with TFDM/STARS/NAS, testing methodologies, project management tools like Redmine, and version control systems like Git.
- Knowledge of HTML/XHTML, QT, JSON, SQL, and advanced shell scripting is advantageous.
Educational Background:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related technical field with substantial coursework in mathematics and computer science, along with relevant work experience.
- Alternatively, a Master's degree in any discipline with significant coursework in mathematics and computer science and relevant experience.
