The Senior Accountant acts as the main contact for designated responsibilities, facilitating the closing and consolidation processes for the AEG group of companies. This role is crucial for internal management reporting, external reporting, and tax compliance. The Senior Accountant will take on duties aligned with their expertise in areas such as corporate finance, consolidation, and operational business units. Key Responsibilities:
- Establish and maintain effective financial statement disclosure controls and procedures.
- Oversee monthly closing tasks, including the preparation of journal entries, reconciliations, and additional support documentation.
- Develop process enhancements and information systems improvements to optimize the business environment.
- Act as the Accounting liaison during external audits.
- Conduct financial analyses and manage special projects as needed.
- Manage and reconcile bi-monthly payroll activities.
- Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience.
- Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., Great Plains and/or Workday), Report Writer tools (e.g., Prophix or Adaptive Insights), and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Knowledge of US GAAP standards.
- Experience in multi-location and multi-entity environments.
- Familiarity with complex entity structures.
- Experience in financial reporting.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to innovate and solve problems effectively.
- Experience in implementing new accounting guidelines and applying existing ones to new transactions.
- Collaborative mindset with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
