Key Responsibilities:

As the Facility Operations Manager, you will oversee the management and functionality of our equipment program, facilities, and utilities, as well as shipping and logistics, while leading the associated support personnel.

Specific Duties Include:

  • Equipment Management:
    • Act as the primary administrator for the Blue Mountain Regulatory Asset Manager, ensuring optimal performance.
    • Facilitate Life Cycle Asset Maintenance by coordinating essential equipment calibration and preventative maintenance as per established schedules.
    • Work collaboratively with the Metrology team on LC-MS/MS units when necessary.
    • Establish and maintain vendor contracts for instrument and equipment services.
    • Schedule and oversee vendor visits for calibration and maintenance tasks.
    • Lead Change Control processes for the commissioning and decommissioning of equipment.
    • Engage with User Departments to define equipment qualification needs and prepare qualification documentation as required.
    • Maintain comprehensive equipment history files and ensure accurate documentation of all maintenance activities.
    • Provide troubleshooting support for equipment to meet customer requirements, identifying issues and root causes of failures.
    • Draft standard operating procedures (SOPs) for instruments or equipment as necessary.
  • Facilities and Utilities Oversight:
    • Oversee the general maintenance and operations of the site’s buildings and utilities.
    • Provide technical guidance related to laboratories, facilities, and utilities.
    • Ensure site generators are maintained in optimal condition, adhering to maintenance and operational protocols.
    • Manage relationships with utility and facility leasing vendors.
    • Oversee the renewal of site-specific permits, including HAZMAT permits.
    • Conduct periodic testing of business continuity processes according to defined SOPs.
    • Manage fixed asset inventory and generate timely reports as needed.
  • Shipping and Logistics Coordination:
    • Oversee the scheduling and receipt of both internal and external shipments, ensuring all necessary permits and customs clearances are obtained.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Over 10 years of experience in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or CRO industry within a GLP/GMP framework.
  • Proficient understanding of laboratory equipment and facilities.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally.
