Job Title: Life Enrichment Assistant

Join our team as a Life Enrichment Assistant and play a vital role in enhancing the lives of our residents. As a key member of our Life Enrichment team, you will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging activities and programs that promote socialization, physical and mental well-being, and overall quality of life for our residents.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Assist the Life Enrichment Director in coordinating and facilitating activities and events for residents, both inside and outside the community.
  • Encourage resident socialization and participation in activities and events to foster a positive community environment.
  • Maintain an inventory checklist of supplies and materials required to enhance the Life Enrichment program.
  • Coordinate the community volunteer program, assigning tasks to volunteers and encouraging their participation in community events and activities.
  • Provide administrative support to the Life Enrichment team as assigned by the Life Enrichment Director.
  • Welcome new residents to the community with a personalized welcome package.
  • Work alongside care staff to transport residents to activities and events.
  • Drive the community vehicle.
Requirements:
  • Coursework in recreational therapy or gerontology is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other computer applications.
  • Previous experience coordinating and conducting group activities, preferably with seniors.
  • Experience caring for individuals with memory impairment is a plus.

Physical Requirements:
  • Constant use of manual dexterity, auditory and visual skills, and gross motor skills with frequent use of bi-manual dexterity and fine motor skills.
  • Ability to follow written and oral instructions and procedures.
  • Ability to reach, bend, twist, squat, kneel, push, and pull.
  • Ability to lift/carry up to 30 pounds.
  • Ability to perform repetitive movements, including simple grasping, pushing, pulling, and fine manipulation.
  • Occasional sitting, with frequent standing and walking.
