Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Records Management Specialist to join our team at the City of Kyle, TX. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing administrative functions for the City Secretary, including coordinating, facilitating, and developing the City-wide records management program.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the development and implementation of the City-wide records management program, including indexing, archival, retention, disposition, and classification policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Provide technical and best practice recommendations to City staff on records management policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Plan, develop, and present training programs to all levels of City staff on records management policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Participate in the completion and ongoing maintenance of digital records inventories.
  • Develop, maintain, and audit the City-wide records schedules in compliance with the City's Records Management Code.
  • Assist with the identification of departmental vital records and the creation and maintenance of records protection and disaster recovery plans.
  • Review offsite storage records, evaluate, and recommend destruction of records that have met retention requirements.
  • Coordinate review and approval of disposition of inter-departmental records.
  • Prepare and create reports on the status of the city's records and information management program.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of one (1) year related records management/network administration experience.
  • Must possess or be able to obtain a Notary Public License and have or be able to obtain a valid Texas Driver's License and be eligible for coverage under the City of Kyle's vehicle insurance provider.
  • GovQA and Laserfiche experience or similar system is preferred.
