Ultrasound Technologist Position Overview

Role Summary: The Ultrasound Technologist is essential in delivering patient care through safe and effective ultrasound examinations, with a strong emphasis on patient safety and data integrity.

Primary Duties:

  • Exemplifies Tower's fundamental values of quality, safety, collaboration, accountability, integrity, and respect
  • Prepares and maintains ultrasound equipment for daily operations, ensuring optimal performance
  • Communicates procedures clearly to patients and conducts diagnostic ultrasound examinations in accordance with established protocols
  • Coordinates patient appointments and oversees the maintenance of medical equipment and supplies
  • Accurately inputs data while safeguarding patient confidentiality
  • Engages in continuous professional development through ongoing education and training

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Completion of an ARDMS-accredited training program
  • 1-3 years of relevant experience as an Ultrasound Technologist, particularly in Vascular imaging
  • Current ARDMS certification and BLS certification
  • Comprehensive understanding of medical terminology and equipment functionality

Skills and Competencies:

  • Expertise in general ultrasound and vascular imaging techniques
  • Availability for flexible scheduling and willingness to work additional hours as necessary
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and communication abilities
  • Capability to perform vascular sonography procedures

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to stand, walk, sit, bend, and occasionally lift up to 30 pounds
  • Manual dexterity for operating equipment and clear visual acuity
  • Awareness of potential hazards within a healthcare setting

Additional Notes: Ongoing education to maintain licensure is mandatory.
