Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Surgical Technician to join our team at Katmai. As a Surgical Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our operating rooms and providing exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist surgeons and anesthesiologists during surgical procedures
  • Prepare and maintain surgical instruments and equipment
  • Transport patients and medical records to and from the operating room
  • Assist with preoperative and postoperative patient care
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment in the operating room
Requirements
  • Completion of a surgical technologist program recognized and accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES)
  • At least 12 months of experience as a surgical services technician within the last 36 months
  • Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Red Cross
  • Ability to effectively read, write, and speak English
Preferred Qualifications
  • Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with a diverse group of people
  • Excellent written communication skills
Work Environment

Work is performed primarily indoors at a well-lit military treatment facility such as a clinic, outpatient facility, or hospital. The environment is normally air-conditioned, but conditions may change dependent upon circumstances.

Physical Demands

Position consists of sitting for long periods of time, using hands/fingers, handling, reaching with hands and arms, speaking, or translating. Periods of walking, standing, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, and lifting boxes weighing up to 30 pounds.
