Position Overview:
The Laundry Support Specialist is a vital role dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for our residents and their families. This full-time position offers a competitive pay rate of $15.50 per hour.

Key Responsibilities:
The Laundry Support Specialist will:
  • Uphold the Elderwood iCARE Values consistently.
  • Sort and categorize soiled linens and clothing based on type, fabric, and color.
  • Label residents' clothing and maintain accurate records of personal belongings.
  • Assist in locating any missing articles of clothing.
  • Operate washing machines, selecting appropriate wash cycles and adding necessary detergents.
  • Transfer washed items to dryers and initiate drying cycles.
  • Sort and fold dry linens, preparing them for distribution throughout the facility.
  • Deliver personal garments back to residents.
  • Maintain cleanliness in the laundry area and ensure proper infection control measures are followed.
  • Safely store compounds and hazardous materials.
  • Participate in evaluations of new laundry products or methods as needed.
  • Arrive punctually and adhere to scheduled shifts, ensuring reliable transportation.
  • Respect and maintain confidentiality regarding resident information.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisory staff.


Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess:
  • A minimum age of 18 years; a high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
  • Experience in a related field is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • A genuine interest in laundry operations.
  • The ability to follow both written and verbal instructions.
  • A commitment to respecting residents' privacy and treating them with dignity.
  • Strong communication skills in English, both written and spoken, at an intermediate level or higher.
