Job Title: Finance and Accounting Manager

Ten Thousand Inc is seeking an experienced Finance and Accounting Manager to oversee our accounting function, support our finance function, and manage finance operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead our accounting function and oversee finance operations, including financial reporting, tax, AP/AR, and cash management.
  • Ensure timely and accurate month-end closes and implement continuous close protocols to provide real-time financial data.
  • Maintain and improve near-term weekly cash flow forecasts.
  • Help manage company operating model and ensure actualized business performance and updated trend guidance.
  • Drive continual improvement across all finance and accounting functions, including financial reporting and cash management.
  • Create, maintain, and enhance business policies, accounting policies, and financial controls.
  • Own sales tax compliance and reporting, including management of sales tax payment platforms.
  • Liaise with Planning & Supply Chain team to ensure accurate inventory & COGS accounting.
  • Partner with other functional teams to develop policies and procedures to ensure timely and accurate accounting in connection with novel company projects and initiatives.
  • Oversee external HR consultant and PEO to monitor payroll tax compliance and ensure accurate employee comp-related accounting and reporting.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field. CPA and/or Master's preferred.
  • 4+ years of public and private finance/accounting experience.
  • Prior experience with apparel, retail, e-commerce, or other manufacturing and inventory-based business model strongly preferred.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, and Quickbooks Online. Prior experience with Shopify and with IMS or ERP systems strongly preferred.
  • Top-notch project management and process design skills. Passion for optimization.
  • Strong prioritization skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Extreme attention to detail.
  • Strong sense of ownership and determination to get things done. Eagerness to learn and grow.
  • MUST BE ABLE TO WORK FROM OUR NYC HQ

The hiring range for this position is $90,000 to $120,000 annually. Salary for the prospective employee is determined by a combination of factors that include qualifications, applicable skills, relevant experience, and other budgetary considerations such as location/geography.
