Wastewater Treatment Specialist

Overview:
The Wastewater Treatment Specialist is accountable for the efficient operation of the Wastewater Pretreatment System (WWTS). The individual must meticulously adhere to established protocols and directives while preparing chemical solutions for the WWTS and associated Plating and Metal Finishing processes.
Shift: 1st shift, Monday to Friday
Key Responsibilities:- Manage the operation of the Wastewater Pretreatment System (WI3117)
- Oversee the maintenance of WWTS chemical compositions
- Calibrate probes and meters associated with the WWTS
- Handle and dehydrate F006 sludge
- Execute batch chemical treatments as required
- Maintain and service WWTS and Plating pumps and related equipment
- Operate the Evaporator unit
- Document daily WWTS operations
- Complete scheduled maintenance for Plating equipment
- Assist in managing chemical inventory
- Prepare waste materials for transportation
- Provide chemical support across facilities
- Participate as a member of the HAZMAT and Emergency Response Teams
- Ensure proper chemical storage and safety protocols are followed
- Refill solvent containers as necessary
- Maintain EN and Nickel Strip operations
- Conduct RCRA inspections regularly
- Strong communication abilities
- Capacity to work accurately in a dynamic environment
- Ability to comprehend and interpret operational procedures
- Exhibit excellent communication and listening skills
- Reliable and punctual attendance
- Effectively collaborate within a team setting
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Physically capable of performing job-related tasks
Preferred Skills:
- Background in Chemistry
- Mechanical skills and knowledge
- Strong organizational capabilities
- Certification as a Tow Motor Operator or willingness to obtain
- Experience in Waste Treatment or manufacturing environments
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift items weighing up to 40 lbs
- Compliance with required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
Work Environment:
- Fast-paced manufacturing setting focused on metal finishing
- Emphasis on safety due to the presence of chemical processes
Compensation: $24.00 per hour, commensurate with experience
