Sports Production Coordinator

Job Summary

The Commonwealth of Virginia is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented individual to fill the role of Broadcast Operations Coordinator. This position will be responsible for assisting with all engineering and broadcast operations for the athletics department, providing support alongside the Chief Engineer and Assistant Director of Engineering for HokieVision, including ACC Network (ACCN) and In-Venue Experience (IVX), as well as maintenance and service of all broadcast, camera, and videoboard display equipment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the logistical aspects of equipment to various venues to ensure proper coverage of all home athletics events.
  • Set up, test, and troubleshoot equipment prior to events.
  • Train students on the proper use of equipment and best practices for maintenance.
  • Collaborate with the engineering team to ensure seamless broadcast operations.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve broadcast quality and efficiency.

Requirements

  • General knowledge of control room environment (video switchers, graphics platforms, LED displays and components, replay systems, broadcast cameras).
  • Strong work ethic and ability to work in a team setting.
  • Ability to work outside of typical business hours as needed.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Commitment to diversity and belonging.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field or combination of education and relevant work experience.
  • Strong knowledge of ACC and NCAA regulations.
  • General sports knowledge in relation to broadcast.
  • Knowledge of industry-standard broadcast equipment.
  • Various cable termination experience.
  • Strong knowledge of Network Infrastructure.
