Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide nursing care to residents in accordance with established standards and policies.
  • Identify and assess infection control issues, providing recommendations for improvement.
  • Prepare agendas for infection control committee meetings.
  • Monitor compliance with infection control practices among staff.
  • Act as a resource for all departments regarding infection control.
  • Develop and update infection control policies and procedures.
  • Conduct investigations during outbreaks and implement control measures.
  • Collaborate with department heads and physicians to enhance resident care.
  • Follow up on employee and resident exposure to communicable diseases.
  • Engage in performance improvement initiatives.
  • Administer prescribed medications and treatments.
  • Contribute to the development of interdisciplinary care plans.
  • Supervise nursing staff assigned to infection control duties.
  • Assist in training new personnel and educating residents.
  • Keep Unit Managers updated on relevant matters.
  • Participate in nursing committees.
  • Be available for on-call and weekend rotations.

Qualifications:

  • Associate's Degree from an accredited School of Nursing.
  • Current Registered Nurse license in Ohio.
  • Preferred experience in long-term care settings.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Completion of a basic training program for Infection Control Certification is desired.
  • Ability to develop and implement policies and procedures.
  • Capability to teach and assess clinical performance.
