Clinical Care Technician

At Bayhealth, we are seeking a Collegiate Nurse Care Technician to join our team. As a Collegiate Nurse Care Technician, you will provide basic patient care, vital signs, blood glucose testing, hygiene, and assistance with ADL's under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
Job SummaryThe Collegiate Nurse Care Technician position is designed for student nurses in an ADN or BSN accredited Nursing Program who have successfully completed at least one semester of a medical/surgical clinical rotation. This is a year-round position that provides exposure and experience in an acute care setting in preparation for a career as a professional nurse.
Responsibilities- Follows plan of care established by the Registered Nurse within a specified timeframe; including, but not limited to, mouth care, bathing, AM and PM care, assistance with ambulation, transfers to chair and/or bed, taking and documenting vital signs, and recording accurate intake and output.
- Under the direction of a Registered Nurse duties such as non-sterile dressing changes, wound irrigation, foley catheter irrigation, application of ace wraps, IV access removal, bladder scans, EKG's, and the application of telemetry monitoring may be assigned.
- Performs duties with the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of patients served on the assigned units.
- Communicate relevant patient information to a professional nurse within appropriate time based on level of urgency. Reports problems immediately to a professional nurse.
To be considered for this position, you must be actively enrolled as an ADN or BSN Nursing Student who has completed one rotation of medical surgical clinical in an acute care setting. A Basic Life Support certification is also required.
Estimated Salary: $15-$20 per hour, depending on experience and location.
