Job Description
Bayhealth is a leading healthcare provider seeking highly motivated student nurses for our Medical Surgical Clinical Care Assistant role. This exciting opportunity is designed for individuals who are currently enrolled in an accredited registered nurse program and have completed at least one semester of medical-surgical clinical rotations.

About the Role
The Medical Surgical Clinical Care Assistant will work under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, providing basic patient care, vital signs, blood glucose testing, hygiene, assistance with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), and comfort measures. The successful candidate will be responsible for following established plans of care, documenting patient information, and communicating effectively with the nursing team.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality patient care, including mouth care, bathing, AM and PM care, ambulation, transfers, and vital sign monitoring.
- Perform tasks such as non-sterile dressing changes, wound irrigation, foley catheter irrigation, and application of ace wraps under the direction of a Registered Nurse.
- Communicate relevant patient information to the nursing team within appropriate time frames based on level of urgency.
- Answer intercom calls or lights in a timely and courteous manner, ensuring effective communication with patients and the nursing team.

Requirements
- Currently enrolled in an accredited registered nurse program.
- Completion of at least one semester of medical-surgical clinical rotations in an acute care setting.
- Basic Life Support certification required.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
