POSITION SUMMARY

The IT Network Specialist is tasked with the design, development, implementation, and ongoing maintenance of IT networks and infrastructure to meet organizational requirements. This position plays a critical role in ensuring the stability, security, and compliance of local area networks (LAN), wide area networks (WAN), and related systems.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Construct, configure, oversee, troubleshoot, enhance, update, and monitor IT network infrastructure (LAN, WAN, VoIP).
  • Design, establish, implement, migrate, troubleshoot, and uphold IT network infrastructure backup, security, redundancy, and disaster recovery protocols.
  • Coordinate and oversee collaborations with service providers for installation, preventive maintenance, upgrades, migrations, repairs, and outage resolutions.
  • Monitor network performance, identify potential issues, and proactively implement solutions.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing operations on projects related to IoT, Industry 4.0, and data collection for predictive analytics.
  • Develop and write custom scripts to automate routine tasks.
  • Create and maintain dashboards for monitoring processes and infrastructure to optimize performance and prevent issues.
  • Provide updates on project status to sponsors, stakeholders, and upper management.
  • Work closely with IT team members and cross-functional business partners to deliver projects and support daily operations.
  • Innovate solutions that contribute to business value.
  • Research and propose enhancements to IT capabilities to foster business growth.
  • Manage multiple projects while overseeing daily operations concurrently.
  • Assist and mentor fellow team members.

SUPERVISORY ROLE

This position does not include direct supervisory responsibilities.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in IT or equivalent experience.
  • Proficiency with Velo Cloud SDWAN and firewall technologies is essential.
  • Experience in VPN configuration and troubleshooting is required.
  • Familiarity with Cisco network switches, Meraki access points, Palo Alto Panorama network monitoring, and firewall configurations is necessary.
  • Knowledge of domain controller, TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, and DFS configuration and management is required.
  • Experience with scripting languages such as PowerShell and batch files is advantageous.
  • Experience in configuring and troubleshooting MFA, SSO, LDAP, SAML, and Kerberos is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Server Operating Systems and Azure Active Directory is preferred.
  • Experience managing IT infrastructure and cloud application projects is beneficial.
  • Familiarity with Agile and Waterfall methodologies is preferred.
  • Experience with Lean and Six Sigma methodologies is a plus.

CERTIFICATIONS

Cisco certifications (CCT, CCNA, CCNP, CCIE) are highly desirable.

LANGUAGE PROFICIENCY

Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English is required.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Basic mathematical skills at the level of an IT bachelor's degree are necessary.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

The physical demands of this role include the ability to use hands for tasks, reach with arms, and communicate effectively. The employee may be required to sit for extended periods and occasionally lift up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This position is primarily office-based with minimal physical risks. The noise level is generally low to moderate, with occasional assignments in a manufacturing environment requiring adherence to OSHA regulations and safety standards.

SALARY RANGE

The annual salary for this position ranges from $100,000 to $120,000, based on various factors including responsibilities, candidate experience, and market considerations.
