Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Speech Language Pathologist to join our team at Yale New Haven Health. As a Speech Language Pathologist, you will be responsible for evaluating and treating patients in a variety of inpatient and outpatient settings. You will work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary treatment team to provide comprehensive care to patients with a range of diagnoses, including post-surgical, developmental, neurological, genetic, oncologic, and traumatic conditions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate and treat patients with speech and language disorders, including articulation and phonological disorders, language delay, and behavior modification.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to meet the unique needs of each patient.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care to patients.
  • Document patient progress and maintain accurate records.
  • Participate in professional development and stay current with best practices in the field.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Speech Language Pathology from an accredited program.
  • Current licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist in the state of Connecticut.
  • Membership in the American Speech and Hearing Association (ASHA).
  • Experience working with pediatric patients, preferably in an outpatient setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with FEES, MBS, and TEP.
  • Knowledge of autism spectrum disorders and medically complex pediatric dysphagia management.
  • Proficiency with articulation and phonological disorders, language delay, and behavior modification.
Work Environment

This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and to prioritize multiple tasks and responsibilities. The Speech Language Pathologist will be required to stand, walk, talk, hear, lift, push, pull, reach, stoop, kneel, climb, and perform repetitive motions of the wrist, fingers, or hands. The worker must be able to exert up to 100 pounds occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds constantly to move objects or the human body.

The worker is subject to inside environmental/atmospheric conditions such as poor ventilation and is also subject to hazards such as exposure to chemicals. The worker must be able to operate various exercise equipment, whirlpools, ultrasound, and electrical stimulation equipment.
