Job Title: Data Analyst II

Join the Rochester Institute of Technology's Institutional Research, Data & Analytics team as a Data Analyst II. This role involves partnering with the university to advance the RIT's vision by promoting data-informed decision making through analytics, business intelligence, data management, data governance, and decision support.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and deploy enterprise-wide business intelligence tools and best practices.
  • Conduct systematic data analysis, ranging from descriptive to prescriptive.
  • Summarize information about the university into reports, including federal and state mandated reports.
  • Develop processes and procedures for effectively managing and governing enterprise data.
  • Provide information and support for data users to foster the use of information for decision making.
  • Support the university's planning, decision support, and reporting activities.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in data, business, or related field or equivalent experience.
  • 2 to 4 years of related data experience.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with SAS, R, or equivalent software.
  • Hands-on experience building dashboards with Tableau or equivalent BI tools.
  • Demonstrated experience in querying, cleaning, and transforming large data sets.
  • General understanding of fundamentals of statistics and quantitative analytics.
  • Detail-oriented, with ability to manage time and organize competing priorities.
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills to manage complex information, assess problems, and develop effective solutions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to convey analytical information in a clear, concise manner.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in higher education.
  • Experience with building and administering surveys using Qualtrics or equivalent survey tool.
  • Familiarity with basics of database management, business intelligence, and data warehousing principles.
