Senior Linux Systems Engineer

Infosys is looking for a Linux Server Administrator. This position necessitates close collaboration with fellow Engineers and Subject Matter Experts.

Essential Qualifications:


• Candidates must be within commuting distance or willing to relocate.


• A Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent from an accredited institution is required. Alternatively, three years of progressive experience in the specialty may be considered in lieu of each year of education.


• A minimum of 4 years of experience in Information Technology is required.


• At least 4 years of experience in Linux Server Administration and Maintenance is essential.


• Experience in L2 or L3 support, including patching, upgrades, and backup/recovery processes.


• Responsibilities include installation and administration of systems.


• Involvement in building new instance environments and projects.


• Troubleshooting hardware-related issues is expected.


• Participation in an on-call rotation for support outside of regular business hours is required.


• Ability to work in a 24x7 production support environment is essential.


• U.S. Citizens and those authorized to work in the U.S. are encouraged to apply.

Preferred Qualifications:


• Strong communication and client interaction skills, along with exceptional written and verbal abilities.


• Excellent planning, project management, coordination, and analytical skills.


• Hands-on experience in a Global Delivery Model with onsite/offshore resources.


• Outstanding organizational skills.


• Ability to manage and prioritize tasks effectively.


• Proactive attitude and readiness to take initiative.


• Attention to detail and strong written and verbal communication skills are crucial.


• Experience managing high availability clustered systems is advantageous.


• AIX Server Administration knowledge is a plus.


• Data Center experience is beneficial.


• Familiarity with Change Management and Disaster Recovery processes is an asset.


• Performance tuning and cross-platform migration experience is valuable.


• Automation skills with scripting are a plus.


• Experience with VMware and V-Center is an added advantage.

The role involves extended periods of sitting and working at a computer. Effective communication through various channels is required.
