Position Overview:

Reporting directly to the Global Director of Infrastructure and Products, the Linux Systems Vulnerability Analyst is tasked with addressing vulnerabilities related to patch management and security fortification. This role involves providing engineering support for security remediation across multi-tenant platforms within a unified domain, encompassing hardware, software, automation, and monitoring solutions.

Your responsibilities will include the remediation and support of distributed computing systems concerning vulnerabilities and patching. Collaboration with application management, development teams, and other IT divisions will be essential to facilitate the reduction of vulnerabilities within the Linux Server infrastructure, both physical and virtual. The ideal candidate will possess a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and exceptional troubleshooting and analytical abilities.

  • 60%: The primary focus is to ensure the global stability, integrity, and efficient operation of systems and infrastructure, supporting core organizational functions while researching new technologies for practical business applications and strategic initiatives.
  • 20%: Demonstrated advanced technical skills and interpersonal competencies within the job role.
  • 20%: Provide comprehensive global technical support for all aspects of strategy development, planning, coordination, scripting, and implementation of releases, upgrades, or modifications to the distributed computing environment. This includes participation in various projects and tasks across the enterprise.

Required Experience:

  • Proficient in installing and supporting Suse Linux Servers, with additional experience in RedHat, Ubuntu, and Oracle Linux preferred.
  • Experience troubleshooting Suse boot processes.
  • Strong skills in Bash and Perl scripting.
  • Experience with VMware installation and support.
  • Management of IaaS and PaaS within Microsoft Azure and/or AWS.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of server technologies, including hardware, operating systems, and related tools and applications.
  • Expertise in technical diagnostics and research related to servers, with advanced troubleshooting capabilities.
  • In-depth understanding of networking components and services, including TCP/IP protocols, DHCP, DNS technologies, and LAN/WAN topologies.
  • Ability to evaluate risks associated with alternatives and take appropriate actions to restore services during system outages.
  • Strong customer service orientation, reliability, and a solid attendance record.
  • Capacity to perform in a highly motivated, self-directed, and organized manner while managing multiple assignments concurrently.
