Vets Hired is seeking an experienced Senior Scientist to join our team. This role will be based in a dynamic research environment, where you will contribute to high-impact research in computational oncology.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and optimize experimental designs for single-cell sequencing, leveraging expertise in molecular biology techniques.
  • Collaborate closely with researchers and the genomics core to apply advanced sequencing techniques to complex biological samples, ensuring successful outcomes and identifying areas for improvement.
  • Maintain detailed records of experiments, procedures, and technical summaries to support reproducibility and data integrity, adhering to best practices in scientific research.
  • Apply problem-solving skills to identify and troubleshoot experimental designs, contributing to the development of new methodologies and experimental approaches.
  • Mentor and provide feedback to junior lab members, fostering a culture of growth, collaboration, and innovation.
  • Communicate effectively with internal teams and external collaborators, delivering clear presentations in both technical and non-technical settings.
  • Contribute to discussions on the strategic direction of the lab, supporting the operational goals of the genomics core.

Core Skills:

  • Expertise in molecular biology techniques, especially in single-cell sequencing and genomics, with a strong focus on NGS assay development.
  • Strong experimental design and data analysis skills, with the ability to think critically and innovatively to solve complex biological questions.
  • Effective communicator and collaborator, able to manage relationships with internal teams and external collaborators, with a leadership mindset and a proven track record in mentorship.
  • Familiarity with imaging technologies and proficiency in laboratory management, maintaining research documentation.

We offer a competitive salary of $120,000 - $180,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus benefits including health insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off.
