Psychiatric Care Specialist

This position offers a rewarding opportunity to work in the Acute Psychiatric Care Unit of the Emergency Department at Maine Medical Center. As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), you will be responsible for evaluating the psychosocial needs of patients and their families, providing diagnostic/preventive and treatment services, and coordinating aftercare services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate patient psychosocial needs and develop individualized treatment plans.
- Provide complex discharge planning and coordinate aftercare services.
- Maintain accurate records of patient interactions and treatment progress.
About the Role
This is a part-time position working approximately 20 hours per week on a night shift. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, be able to multitask in a fast-paced environment, and have knowledge of community resources and systems. Experience in a healthcare or mental health setting is preferred.
Required Skills and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess a Master's Degree in Social Work/Clinical Counseling from an institution accredited by the Council on Social Work/Counselor Education, as well as current licensure as an LCSW (Licensed Clinical Social Worker) or LMSW-CC (Licensed Master Social Worker, Conditional Clinical). Two years of relevant experience is preferred.
Estimated Salary Range: $65,000 - $85,000 per year
