ROLE SUMMARY:
The successful candidate will support the Project Manager in overseeing multi-disciplinary engineering and design initiatives with budgets ranging from $50,000 to $5,000,000 within the Oil and Gas, CO2 Capture, and Chemical sectors. Responsibilities include assisting in the planning, execution, monitoring, and control of all project facets. The role involves direct collaboration with lead engineering and design teams, ensuring effective communication and coordination across disciplines. A technical background is essential for evaluating design drawings and fostering client relationships.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Planning:
- Engage with proposal managers to ensure a comprehensive understanding of stakeholder expectations, project scope, deliverables, budget, schedule, and quality standards.
- Organize initial meetings with clients to align on project objectives, communication protocols, deliverables, budget, schedule, and quality metrics.
- Coordinate the formation of the project team with department heads, including the assignment of the Professional Engineer of record for each discipline.
- Draft detailed scopes of work, design basis, and schedules, validating them with engineering and design teams.
- Ensure engineering leads create execution plans and update project control systems, validating these plans as necessary.
Execution:
- Provide leadership and conduct high-level reviews of technical execution.
- Facilitate weekly status and design meetings to ensure interdisciplinary communication and coordination.
- Review the status of tasks, deliverables, and quality processes, updating scope, schedule, budget, and forecasts as needed.
- Monitor and manage changes, issuing change orders to clients when necessary.
- Maintain consistent communication with clients through various channels, including meetings and reports.
- Track project progress and deliver weekly progress reports to clients.
- Ensure adherence to company policies and procedures by the project team.
- Conduct lessons learned sessions during the project execution phase.
- Mentor junior engineers and designers.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Bachelor's Degree (four-year college or technical school) is required.
Experience: 0 - 3 years, with focused experience in engineering, design drafting, or engineering technology.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, etc.), Bluebeam/Adobe, and MS Windows.
Other Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, dependability, technical aptitude, organizational skills, quick learning ability, integrity, and collaboration skills are essential.
