About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Medical Laboratory Technician to join our Flow Cytometry team at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center. As a valued member of our team, you will play a critical role in conducting laboratory tests and procedures, maintaining quality control, and adhering to established protocols.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform a wide variety of routine and designated laboratory tests, exercising professional judgment in determining the acceptability of results prior to release to patient records.
  • Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot complex instruments, ensuring accurate and reliable results.
  • Participate in quality management initiatives, reviewing daily, weekly, and monthly records and data, and implementing corrective actions as needed.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure seamless laboratory operations, maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.
  • Continuously strengthen knowledge of clinical laboratory principles and techniques through participation in continuing education programs.
Requirements
  • Associate's degree in medical technology from an AMA-approved school.
  • MLT certification (ASCP or equivalent).
  • No experience necessary, although previous experience in a particular lab area is a plus.
