Nurse Practitioner

Discovery Behavioral Health is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our team in a dynamic multidisciplinary environment. As a Registered Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing treatment services to patients struggling with eating disorders.
Key Responsibilities:- Conduct face-to-face assessments with potential new admissions and ensure medical appropriateness for admission to the facility.
- Collaborate with medical and psychiatric providers to receive orders for admission and ensure all orders are carried out.
- Administer medications as prescribed and document effectiveness within timelines.
- Meet regularly with medical staff and treatment teams to discuss patient care, needs, and interventions.
- Provide assessment of medical problems as needed and perform vital signs, basic evaluative procedures, blood draws, and tests.
- Maintain NG tubes and administer bolus feeds when appropriate.
- Ensure all medications needed by patients are ordered appropriately and available in the facility.
- Effectively communicate with families and loved ones, as appropriate.
- Provide milieu management throughout the treatment experience and communicate with all team members.
- Objectively and accurately document patient progress as required by policy.
- Assist with discharge process and assess patient suicidality and possibility of danger to self or others.
- Communicate with referral sources and outpatient providers for continuity of care upon admission, midpoint, and discharge, as needed.
- Oversee the medication management system, including medication planning, storage, ordering, and transcribing, administration, monitoring, and evaluation.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) accepted.
- Holds a current RN license in good standing.
- One year experience preferred working in mental health, substance use, or eating disorders field.
- Ability to draw blood required.
- Obtain CPI certification within 90 days of hire.
- Obtain CPR, AED, and First Aid certification.
- Must possess a current Driver's License in good standing.
