Job Summary

The Assistant Director of Admissions is a key member of the admissions team, responsible for overseeing the recruitment and admissions process for prospective students. This role requires a strong understanding of the admissions cycle, from initial contact through to enrollment, and the ability to manage multiple projects and responsibilities.

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree and three to five years of experience in admissions or a related field. A master's degree is preferred, as is knowledge of SUNY Polytechnic Institute. The successful candidate will be able to work effectively with a diverse population and have excellent written and oral communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the admissions cycle, including recruitment and outreach efforts
  • Collaborate with internal departments to develop effective recruitment plans and outreach strategies
  • Build relationships with high school counselors, prospective students, and parents to promote the institution
  • Maintain a strong knowledge of programs, admission requirements, and application procedures
  • Partner with the Director to streamline application processing and review procedures
  • Help manage the selection and evaluation of applicants
  • Assist in preparing reports and presentations on admissions performance

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree from a college or university accredited by the US Department of Education or internationally recognized accrediting organization
  • Three to five years of admissions or related professional experience
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and responsibilities
  • Two or more years of experience working with a CRM application
  • Three or more years of supervisory experience
  • Exemplary written and oral communication skills

Preferred Requirements:

  • Master's degree
  • Knowledge of SUNY Polytechnic Institute
  • Three to five years of experience working with a CRM application (Slate preferred)
  • Experience working with a student information system (Banner preferred)
