Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Police Support Technician to join our team at the Josephine County Sheriff's Office. As a key member of our Records, Jail, or Civil Section, you will be responsible for performing a wide range of administrative duties, including researching and summarizing information, completing reports, and implementing office procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide exceptional customer service to the public, responding to inquiries and directing them to relevant resources as needed.
  • Prepare and process various documents, including correspondence, reports, and forms, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Manage and maintain accurate records, including intake and release procedures, using a data management system.
  • Operate a variety of office equipment, including computers, printers, and recording machines, with proficiency.
  • Interpret and enter complex court orders into the computer data storage system, ensuring data entry is complete and accurate.
  • Organize and distribute legal documents and reports to criminal justice agencies, ensuring timely and accurate delivery.
  • Accurately compute confinement time for individuals incarcerated in the correctional facility, including State Good Time and Work Time earned.
  • Enter complaints, case report information, traffic citations, and warnings into the CAD/Records Management system, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
Requirements
  • Associate's degree in office administration or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Four years of progressively responsible secretarial and/or administrative experience, or five years of experience in a related field.
  • Ability to learn new techniques, operate new equipment, and adapt quickly to changing work requirements in a high-intensity work atmosphere.
  • Substantial ability to perform and prioritize multiple simultaneous tasks, operate office equipment efficiently, and interpret and retain Sheriff's Office policies and procedures.
