Position Overview:
As a Community Support Specialist at Partnerships in Community Living, Inc., you will play a vital role in assisting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Your primary focus will be to empower these individuals to lead self-sufficient lives both at home and within the community.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with individuals to help them make informed choices regarding their daily lives.
  • Advocate for the needs and preferences of those you support, while fostering their ability to advocate for themselves.
  • Support the development of meaningful relationships between individuals and their loved ones.
  • Act as a mentor, recognizing and respecting the unique preferences and requirements of each person.
  • Provide assistance that goes beyond basic caregiving, focusing on promoting independence.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of mental health principles and positive behavioral support strategies.

Qualifications:
  • Minimum age of 18 years (Diploma/GED not mandatory).
  • Ability to lift at least 25 lbs regularly (some shifts may require more).
  • Certification in the Oregon Intervention System (OIS) is required and must be maintained.
  • Certification in CPR/First Aid is necessary and must be kept current.
  • Successful completion of a state/federal criminal history and protective service investigation check, which may include fingerprinting.
  • Pass a pre-employment drug screening for illegal substances in Oregon.
  • Possess a valid driver's license with a good driving record.
  • Basic computer proficiency is required; a computer assessment will be conducted prior to hiring.

Employment Type: Full-Time - Shift hours are determined based on individual needs, with 30 hours or more considered full-time. Part-time shifts may also be available.
Compensation: $18 per hour - Additional differentials may apply after training completion. A $1,000 sign-on bonus is available, paid in increments at specified milestones during employment.
