We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Police Support Technician to join our team at the Josephine County Sheriff's Office. As a key member of our Records, Jail, or Civil Section, you will be responsible for performing a wide range of administrative duties, including researching and summarizing information, completing reports, and implementing office procedures.
Key Responsibilities- Provide exceptional customer service to the public, responding to inquiries and directing them to relevant resources as needed.
- Prepare and edit documents, reports, and forms, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
- Manage and maintain accurate records, including data entry and retrieval.
- Process applications for concealed weapons and explosives permits, conducting thorough background checks.
- Operate various office equipment, including computers, printers, and recording machines.
- Interpret and enter complex court orders into our computer system, ensuring data accuracy and completeness.
- Organize and distribute legal documents and reports to criminal justice agencies.
- Accurately compute confinement time for incarcerated individuals, including state good time and work time.
- Enter complaints, case report information, traffic citations, and warnings into our CAD/Records Management system.
- Complete financial records and distribute monies to various agencies.
- Associate's degree in office administration or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Four years of progressively responsible secretarial and/or administrative experience, or five years of experience with a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to learn new techniques, operate new equipment, and adapt quickly to changing work requirements.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of law enforcement procedures and protocols, as well as general knowledge of county-wide departmental functions and procedures.
