Genomic Technologist II Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Genomic Technologist II to join our team at KA Recruiting Inc. in a Molecular Pathology position.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform and train on various genomics testing, including nucleic acid isolation, PCR, chromosome microarray, molecular infectious disease testing, Sanger sequencing, Next Generation Sequencing, RFLP, and molecular automated platforms.
  • Participate in validation of clinical testing and development of new clinical assays to be run in the Clinical Genomics and Advanced Technology Lab.
  • Maintain quality control/quality assurance as designated by the genomics Lead.
  • Analyze, report, and troubleshoot data generated from clinical genomics technologies and assays.
  • Have proficiency with both the LIS and EMR.
  • Communicate well in oral and written fashion.
  • Write and review all applicable laboratory SOPs.
  • Responsible for analysis of clinical testing proficiency samples to be reported to regulatory agencies.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • ASCP certification required.
  • Minimum of 2 years experience with multiple clinical genomics platforms.
  • Modest proficiency in Microsoft EXCEL, Microsoft PowerPoint, and Microsoft Word.
  • Minimum of 2 years experience with various QC principles and analysis in a clinical laboratory.
  • Minimum of 2 years experience with routine and preventative maintenance, operation, and trouble shooting for technical and software related issues.
  • Detail-oriented, well-organized.
