Genomic Technologist II Job Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Genomic Technologist II to join our team at KA Recruiting Inc. in a Molecular Pathology role.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for performing and training on various genomics testing, including nucleic acid isolation, PCR, chromosome microarray, molecular infectious disease testing, Sanger sequencing, Next Generation Sequencing, RFLP, and familiarity with molecular automated platforms.

Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in validation of clinical testing and development of new clinical assays to be run in the Clinical Genomics and Advanced Technology Lab.
  • Maintain quality control/quality assurance as designated by the genomics Lead.
  • Analyze, report, and troubleshoot data generated from clinical genomics technologies and assays.
  • Have proficiency with both the LIS and EMR.
  • Communicate well in oral and written fashion.
  • Write and review all applicable laboratory SOPs.
  • Responsible for analysis of clinical testing proficiency samples to be reported to regulatory agencies.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • ASCP certification required.
  • Minimum of 2 years experience with multiple clinical genomics platforms.
  • Modest proficiency in Microsoft EXCEL, Microsoft PowerPoint, and Microsoft Word.
  • Minimum of 2 years experience with various QC principles and analysis in a clinical laboratory.
  • Minimum of 2 years experience with routine and preventative maintenance, operation, and trouble shooting for technical and software related issues.
  • Detail-oriented, well-organized.
