Job Summary:

Cole Engineering Services is seeking a skilled Software Design Engineer 2 to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing and developing modern full stack software applications using Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) design principles and microservice-based software architectures.

The ideal candidate will have experience working with cross-functional teams in an agile based full-cycle development environment, including requirements analysis, design, and implementation. You will also be responsible for elevating software engineering standards and assisting the engineering team in software system or subsystem development and documentation efforts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop modern full stack software applications using OOP design principles and microservice-based software architectures
  • Work with cross-functional teams in an agile based full-cycle development environment
  • Elevate software engineering standards and assist the engineering team in software system or subsystem development and documentation efforts
  • Communicate effectively with the team, both verbally and electronically

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline such as electrical engineering, computer science, information technology, systems or software engineering from an accredited college or university
  • Minimum 2+ years applicable software engineering experience
  • Strong object-oriented programming expertise
  • Experience with JavaScript, Java Spring Boot, React, Angular or other related libraries desired

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with containerization of applications (e.g. Docker)
  • Experience with DevOps or CI/CD processes
  • Experience with back-end development, including web servers (Nginx, Apache, etc.), database servers, etc.

Security Clearance:

In accordance with the specifications of a government contract, eligibility for this position mandates U.S. Citizenship status with ability to obtain a SECRET to TOP SECRET security clearance.
