Phlebotomy Specialist

About the Position:

We are seeking a skilled Phlebotomist to join our team at Odessa Regional Medical Center. As a Phlebotomist, you will be responsible for collecting patient samples and performing venipunctures and skin punctures competently and expediently.

Under the supervision of a Lab Technician, you will participate in Performance Improvement activities and provide service to patients of all ages. To be successful in this role, you will need to have thorough knowledge of test requirements and be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

• Collect patient samples
• Perform venipunctures and skin punctures
• Participate in Performance Improvement activities
• Provide service to patients of all ages

Requirements:

• High School graduate or equivalent
• Eighty hours of training in the proper procedure to be employed in the performance of venipuncture and skin punctures
• Medical Assistant or Phlebotomy certification
• BLS (American Heart Association CPR) Certification within 90 days of hire
