Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Project Engineer II to join our team at Amentum. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for ensuring the mechanical integrity of hazardous systems, performing engineering assessments, and providing technical guidance to technicians.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform engineering oversight to ensure compliance with mechanical integrity inspections and resolve system deficiencies.
  • Prepare, review, and implement system designs as assigned by management.
  • Manage subcontractors throughout project phases, including updating schedules and coordinating assigned work.
  • Perform Process Safety Management functions as required by OSHA, including responsibility over assigned elements of the PSM standard and record keeping of applicable documents.
  • Act as Configuration Manager for critical systems and prepare Engineering Field Instructions (EFI's) to direct Field Technicians to conduct operations.
  • Direct technicians in the performance of EFI's when assigned by management.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a similar discipline required, and four years of experience.
  • Previous engineering assignments and knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures in propellants or related areas.
  • Thorough knowledge of MS Office suite of products (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook), and AutoCAD.
  • Excellent verbal, technical writing, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with hypergolic propellants, cryogenics, life support equipment, and high pressure gases.
  • Knowledge of Process Safety Management (PSM).
