Job Title: Staff IT Systems Engineer

Fortinet is seeking a highly skilled IT Systems Engineer to join our HQ RD Infrastructure team based in Sunnyvale, CA. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the operation, maintenance, and deployment of multiple private cloud platforms installed in US site colocation facilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Individual contributor role in the operation, maintenance, and deployment of multiple private cloud platforms installed in US site colocation facilities.
  • System administration, deployment, and maintenance of VIO (VMware Integrated Openstack)
  • VMware VSphere/VCenter Administration
  • Working knowledge in VMware NSXT administration
  • Network Administration (physical and virtual Switch/Router/Firewall)
  • Troubleshooting and resolving technical problems
  • Ordering equipment, managing physical infrastructure, and asset tracking
  • Rack/stack servers and troubleshoot hardware with vendor escalations
  • Work with 3rd party vendors (Colocation provider, ISPs, and Smarthands)
  • Provide on call support as required
Requirements:
  • 5+ years of experience in production platform operations
  • 5+ years of experience in production infrastructure operations
  • Proficient in Enterprise VMware server virtualization
  • Proficient in VMware NSX or NSXT
  • Basic knowledge in Openstack administration
  • Basic knowledge in Linux server administration (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu)
  • Basic knowledge in network administration and industry standard protocols
  • Some experience in network, server and system monitoring (Zabbix, Nagios, etc.)
  • Some experience in at least one scripting language (Powershell, Powercli, Python, Bash, etc.)
  • Excellent ability to organize, multitask, work individually and in a team
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Certification in RHCE
  • Certification in Openstack
  • Certification in VMware VCAP, NSX
Education:
  • A degree or technical diploma in Computer Science, Computer Technology, or related field
  • Bachelor s Degree in Computer Science or related field
  • Master s Degree preferred
