About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Staff Software Engineer to join our team at Arete. As a key member of our software development team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing software solutions for Navy sensor systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement new features and bug fixes for Navy sensor systems.
  • Perform testing using embedded processors, circuit boards, and related test equipment.
  • Develop and present innovative software designs at customer meetings.

Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • Minimum 5 years of software development experience
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or computer science
  • C++ and embedded development experience
  • Collaborative team experience (Scrum)
  • Strong customer communication and presentation skills

Nice to have:

  • Linux systems-level knowledge and C++ programming
  • VSCode cross-platform development experience
  • Familiarity with serial communication: SPI, UART, I2C
  • GPU programming (CUDA)
  • C# code development with WinForms, WPF, Avalonia UI
  • Active security clearance
Salary Range

The salary range for this role is $120,000 to $150,000, depending on experience and qualifications.

Other Requirements

U.S. citizenship is required to meet position eligibility. Selected applicants will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Successful passage of a criminal background screen is required to meet position eligibility. Areté will consider for employment qualified applicants with criminal histories in a manner consistent with the requirements of the Los Angeles Fair Chance Initiative for Hiring. Successful passage of a Department of Transportation (DOT) drug test is required to meet position eligibility.
