Job Summary:The Senior Director, Nursing, Surgical Services will oversee the development, coordination, and evaluation of clinical programs of nursing care, education, and research-related activities for designated clinical divisions/departments.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and implement business strategies to achieve organizational goals, ensuring legal compliance and effective communication with stakeholders.
- Collaborate with vice presidents and administrators to identify non-clinical supports for safe and effective patient care.
- Assess environmental needs, including equipment and supplies, to support patient care.
- Participate in policy development and work collaboratively with administrative and clinical colleagues to develop business plans, clinical programs, and services.
- Implement standards of care and provide direction and consultation to others in developing policies for Inpatient Services/Nursing.
- Work with Risk Management and the Legal department to identify potential risks and investigate incidents.
- Develop and implement a programmatic approach to care programs and outcomes management, focusing on clinical outcomes, patient access, and throughput.
- Certification in clinical specialty
- Licensed in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Registered Nurse
- 4 years of progressive nursing Director/Management experience required
- Demonstrated experience in a broad range of surgical nursing roles, i.e. orthopedic, ophthalmology, ENT, and gynecological surgeries.
- Experience managing or overseeing operating room (OR) operations, including leadership or supervision of the OR and/or Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU)
