Job Summary:

The East Boston Neighborhood Health Center is seeking a skilled Radiologic Technologist to join our team. As a Radiologic Technologist, you will be responsible for producing high-quality radiographic images under the guidance of the Radiology Supervisor and BMC Radiologists.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform diagnostic radiographic examinations following department protocol and utilizing technical factors to ensure the highest quality result in head and neck studies, chest studies, spine and pelvis, upper extremity, lower extremity, abdomen, and pediatric studies.
  • Produce copies of radiographic images as needed.
  • Follow radiation safety procedures on all exams, keeping them ALARA.
  • Appropriately utilize shields to reduce exposure to patients.
  • Set technical factors to reduce patient exposure and produce high-quality films.
  • Use sterile technique if required and follow standard precautions.
  • Demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to communicate with all age groups.
  • Prepare patients for the exam by explaining the exam procedure in a kind, respectful manner.
  • Demonstrate the ability to recognize age-related pathology and physical presentation when performing exams and choosing technical factors.
